How We Replace Your Windscreen
Remove the damaged glass – We take off the necessary trims, remove the old windscreen and clear any loose glass.
Prepare the surfaces – Clean and prepare the windscreen opening and replacement glass for bonding.
Fit the replacement – Apply OEM-approved SIKA PRO Urethane, then position and set the new windscreen.
Refit and check – Refit trims and your E-tag where applicable, reconnect relevant sensors, then test and clean the installation.
Confirm calibration and aftercare – Recommend ADAS recalibration where a camera looks through the glass, and explain your drive-away time and aftercare.

How much does windscreen replacement cost?
The price depends on your vehicle, glass specification and any ADAS recalibration required. Send us your vehicle details for a free quote. We’ll confirm the glass options and cost before you book.
How long does replacement take, and when can I drive?
Fitting usually takes around an hour, followed by another 30–60 minutes for the adhesive to set before driving. ADAS calibration adds time where required. Follow the drive-away time your technician gives you for your vehicle’s installation.
Do you offer genuine and aftermarket windscreens?
Yes, depending on your vehicle and availability. We’ll explain the options and match the glass to your model and features, including rain sensors and cameras. All glass we use meets Australian Standards.
Does my windscreen camera need recalibrating afterwards?
If your vehicle has an ADAS camera looking through the windscreen, we recommend recalibration after replacement. Each glass panel has unique properties, so the camera needs to be calibrated to the new glass. We offer this as a separate service and explain the arrangements when quoting.
Can I use my insurance for a replacement?
Metro Auto Glass is an insurance-approved repairer. Check your cover, excess and repairer choice with your insurer, then lodge your claim directly with them. Once approved, we can complete the replacement where your insurer and policy permit.
What warranty comes with my new windscreen?
Our lifetime workmanship guarantee covers installation-related issues, including leaks and rattles, which we’ll fix free of charge. It excludes general wear and tear of materials, customer-caused damage and accident damage.
