Sound Glass Can Still Have a Failed Seal
Your windscreen may be intact while the sealing around it has deteriorated or failed. We assess the glass, seal and surrounding fitting area to work out what’s needed. Where seal replacement is suitable, we remove the windscreen, clean away the old material and refit the glass with an appropriate automotive adhesive and sealant.

How We Replace Your Windscreen Seal
Remove the windscreen – Carefully take out the existing glass to access the failed or deteriorated sealing area.
Clean and prepare – Remove old sealant, adhesive residue and debris from the windscreen and vehicle opening.
Apply new sealing material – Use the appropriate automotive glass adhesive and sealant to form the new bond and seal.
Refit and secure – Reinstall the windscreen, checking that it is correctly seated and sealed around the opening.
Inspect and finish – Check the completed seal and fit, clean the work area and explain the required setting time and aftercare.
Start With the Surfaces Beneath the Glass
Replacing failed sealing involves more than the visible edge of the windscreen. We remove the glass to access the affected area, clear away old adhesive and debris, then prepare the surfaces for the new seal before refitting.

Windscreen Seal Replacement FAQs
Your Questions Answered
Find answers about leaks, reusing your glass, the replacement process and costs.
How do I know whether my windscreen seal needs replacing?
Water around the windscreen or deteriorated sealing can be a reason to have it checked. Tell us where and when the problem occurs. We’ll assess the seal, glass and surrounding fitting area; water inside the cabin alone does not confirm that the windscreen seal is responsible.
Can you replace the seal without replacing the windscreen?
Our seal-replacement process involves removing and refitting the existing windscreen where suitable. Whether the glass can be reused depends on its condition and the work required. We’ll assess it and discuss any need for replacement glass, rather than promise that the original panel can always be retained.
Why does the windscreen need to be removed?
Removal gives us access to the failed sealing area. We clean old adhesive and debris from the glass and vehicle opening, apply the appropriate new material and refit the windscreen. This allows us to prepare the surfaces that form the new bond and seal.
How much does windscreen seal replacement cost?
The price depends on your vehicle, the condition of the glass and sealing area, and the work required. Surrounding damage can affect the scope. Contact us for a free quote; we’ll explain what needs assessing and confirm the proposed work and price before proceeding.
How long does the work take, and when can I drive?
We can usually complete windscreen resealing in about 1 hour. Timing depends on the vehicle and the condition of the existing installation. Allow time for removal, preparation, refitting and the adhesive to set. We’ll explain the expected appointment length, and your technician will confirm the drive-away time for the completed job.
What warranty comes with the new seal?
Our lifetime workmanship guarantee covers problems caused by our work, including workmanship-related leaks, which we’ll fix free of charge. It excludes general wear and tear of materials, customer-caused damage and accident damage. We’ll explain the scope of the work carried out on your vehicle.
